Dog friendly

Pet friendly holidays

Some of our sea view apartments are pet friendly and we welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs in apartments 5, 6 & 7.  We have also had cats, parrots and hamsters staying in our apartments.

There are loads of great walks right from our doorstep along the coastal path.  We also love driving to the top of Ventnor Down with coast to coast views and miles of easy paths.

We have a small garden which you are welcome to use, but please pick up any presents your dog may leave for us - there are plenty of bins on the Esplanade. Please bring your own pet beds, towels and bowls for your dogs and we politely request that you don't allow them on our furniture. We also ask that you don't leave the dogs unattended in the apartments if they are likely to bark.

Pets on the ferries?

There are dog friendly areas on all of the ferries. You can leave your dog in the car if you prefer.

Dog friendly beaches and walks?

Our beach in Ventnor has a dog ban from 1st May - 30 Sept but the rest of the year they can run free.  Dogs are allowed on leads at Steephill Cove and can run free after 6pm.  Bonchurch beach is also dog friendly.

Further afield, you'll find dog friendly sandy beaches at Shanklin Chine, Yaverland, Compton Bay, Bembridge, Appley (nr Ryde) and at Fort Victoria. The tourist office has a full list of dog friendly beaches.

Things to do?

Most pubs and cafes in Ventnor welcome dogs so you will have plenty of eating out options. Also the majority of the tourist attractions understand that lots of people have their dogs with them on holiday so they are welcome in lots of places.

Overall the island is very dog friendly and lots of our guests come back regularly with their pets.
