Annual Events: There are a large number of exciting events on the Isle of Wight. Here is a round up of some of the annual events for your diary but for more details check the Tourist Information site.

Easter - This is the time when many of the attractions re-open for the season and there are always lots of Easter themed events around the island including Egg Hunts at Robin Hill and Mottistone.

May - Isle of Wight Walking Festival with a huge range of themed walks of different lenghts including the famous "Walk the Wight" which attracts 10,000 walkers raising funds for the Hospice.

Mid June - Enjoy the Isle of Wight festival but without the muddy camping.  1 day and 3 day tickets are available for this popular music festival. For information and tickets click here.

July - Watch the "Round the Island yacht race" from the comfort of your own balcony, where 1700 boats compete in this spectactular one day race. 

July - Isle of Wight open studios encourages local artists to open up their studios to visitors all over the island. For more details see their website.

August - Take a trip to watch the yacht racing for Cowes week culminating in the amazing fireworks display.

August - Come stay for the Ventnor fringe. Live music, art exhibitions, plays and comedy events all over Ventnor, culminating in the amazing Ventnor carnival.

August - Enjoy live music, and many country stalls at the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival

August bank holiday - See scooters everywhere, of every colour, age and origin at the Isle of Wight Scooter festival

September - enjoy Eklectika music festival without the muddy camping! 

September -  Take part or come and watch some of the many cycling events on the island.  In the top 10 best places to cycle in the world according to Lonely Planet Guide.

September - Little Britain challenge cup (yacht racing)

October - Come and test your stamina in the Isle of Wight Marathon

End October - Isle of Wight Walking Festival with over 250 walks including geo-caching, speed dating and other themed walks attracts more than 20,000 participants.

Oct half term - Isle of Fright & Ambient Autumn @ Electric Woods - This is definitely the best time to see the stunning Electric woods at Robin Hill park.

December - Victorian Christmas at Osborne House

December - Shanklin Christmas fayre and Christmas tree festival

26th December - Are you brave enough to take part in the Boxing Day Swim where up to 200 crazy folk run into the water at Ventnor beach.
