Guided Cycling Weekend Offer - 20th - 22nd April 18
Book any apartment and enjoy a weekend of free guided cycling on some of the best routes around the Island.
With miles of fresh new tarmac recently laid down on some of the quietest, and most beautiful roads on the island – combined with bridleways and old railway lines criss crossing between them (for those that enjoy an adventure/gravel ride), the Isle of Wight is becoming one of the best places to head for a weekend’s cycling. Guy has been busy planning some rides that will enable you to enjoy the best bits of the ‘round the island’ route along with some roads that are almost unknown to the tourists who visit - the hidden gems that everyone else passes by.
Whether you’re a steady 14-15 mph weekend cyclist, or a strava hound keen to make their mark on the big climbs, Guy will shepherd you around the island with some great coffee and cake stops thrown in to ensure you remain fully fuelled up.
The rough plan for the weekend would see a brief 25 mile ride out on the Friday afternoon/early evening for those getting out earlier in the day and wanting an initial leg stretch, a longer 65 mile trek on Saturday and a shorter but scenic route of c 40 miles on the Sunday leaving time for a hearty lunch and then head home. All the guiding is provided free of charge – with gpx files available for those that want to get ahead of the peloton, or take it all at a more leisurely pace. Whatever your preference, it should prove to be a great weekend for anyone that wants to explore an island that is made for cycling.
A large, secure garage is available to ensure your pride and joy is well looked after. Bikes are welcome on all Wightlink ferries and on the Red Funnel car ferry.
The free guiding is available to guests booking any of our apartments over the dates of 20th - 22nd April. Prices from £75 per night per apartment.
